All the different truck manufacturers from Chevy to Toyota have their own names for the different cab sizes. Above shows the most common ways to distinguish the differences in the cab sizes. The Dodge Ram trucks all have doors that open the same direction but the size difference from the quad and crew cab models is distinguishable. This helpful guide will show you how to measure the bed of your truck. All the trucks made for the United States today have similar bed sizes. The extra short bed, which is generally equipped on the crew cab model of trucks measures approximately 5 to 5-1/2 feet. The standard (regular) truck bed which is common on all trucks regardless of cab size is 6-1/2 feet and the long bed is generally an 8 foot bed.
